학부모님들께:

2007년 가을 학기는 한국학교의 날과 추석 명절을 함께 기념하는 참으로 의미깊고 보람있었던 학기였습니다. 10월13일 개최된 이번 행사에서 학생들은 물론 많은 학부모님들도 모두 한국학교 공식 티셔츠를 입고 그동안 1년동안 지속되었던 한국학교의 날이 김밥 만들기등 한국 문화 전반에 관한 체험으로 한층 더 성숙되어가는 모습을 지켜보았습니다.많은 준비로 헌신하셨던 선생님, 학부모, 자문위원회에 진심으로 감사 드립니다. 여러분의 아낌없는 지원과 후원으로 가능했던 일입니다.

2008년 봄학기는 2월 9일 개학식을 시작으로 5월 10일에 마치게 됩니다. 주요일정은 3월15일 한국학교의 날과 공개수업 그리고 학부모-교사회의가 있고 5월10일 종업식 겸 피크닉이 계획되어있습니다. 3월15일 한국학교의 날 적극적인 참여를 부탁드립니다. 또한 한국학교에서는 입양아 어린이들을 중심으로 한달에 한번 1시간 반에 걸친 한국학교 준비반을 새로 입양아 그룹과 함께 제공키로 하였습니다.

Dear Parents:

Thank you very much for your continuing participation and support for the school. On October 13, 2007, we celebrated the third Korean School Day and the Choo Seok Holiday (Korean Thanksgiving Day) with many holiday special activities with many parents. All of our students and their parents with official school T-shirts on enjoyed traditional games and cooking, including delicious Kim Bap (김밥, 예~~). The Korean School Day is scheduled on March 15 with many New Year’s cultural activities. Please join us with your children.

The spring of 2008 semester will start on February 9 with the registration and Opening Ceremony and end on May 10 with picnic and Closing Ceremony together. We will announce the plan soon. School offers Jin-Dal-Lae Class (4-11 year olds), Tae-Keuk Class (12-18 year olds), and Han-Ma-Eum Class (adults) for local American community, especially with the Love the Children Group. Please share this information with many of your friends and help school build meaningful relationship with community.

In this semester, the school, SU undergraduate Brothers and Sisters Mentor System (BMS) team, and the Love the Children Group together will offer a new class for adopted and other children, once a month for an hour and half on Korea related fun activities, culture and language. This class will serve as a prep school for those who want to consider a full attending of the regular Korean School class later. This is exciting news and let many in the community participate in this wonderful opportunity.
